Internal evidence indicates that this collection was formed by Barbara Deibler at the State Library of Pennsylvania, combining material from the library's vertical file with other material either given to her or uncovered in the course of her research into the history of the various capitol buildings used by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. While the contents focus on the 1906 building designed by Joseph Huston, earlier buildings are also described and discussed. The collection also includes material about some of the other buildings in the 'Capitol Complex' in Harrisburg. The collection includes published pamphlets and programs; newspaper and journal articles; illustrations, including photographs; copies of floorplans; notes; bibliographies; and related materials.
